IOLS is required for Scoutmasters, Venture Advisors, Varsity Coaches, and Assistants to be considered fully trained.

This hands-on course covers basic outdoor skills, including woods tools, ropes and lashings, nature identification, Outdoor Ethics, cooking, camp set-up, fire building, map and compass, hiking, flag ceremonies, and campfire programs. IOLS prepares you to teach all the outdoor requirements through First Class.

Cost: $10. Assignments will be made by your ‘Patrol Leader’.

Bring all your personal gear as described in the Scout Handbook (sleeping gear, eating gear, clothing, compass, etc) as well as a tent. Once registration is closed, Patrols will be assigned and work together to provide all ‘patrol gear’ as described in the Scout Handbook (tents, lanterns, stoves, cooking gear, etc).

Registration: Mail registration and payment to: North Florida Council, 521 S. Edgewood Ave., Jacksonville, FL 32205. To guarantee a space and meals, registration must be received by Fri, April 7. Mail it by April 3 or contact Robert Leverock.
