Cancelled - NRA/BSA Instructor Certification Course
Due to lack of participation, we are canceling this training. There will be another training Oct. 8-10, 2021.
This is a 2-weekend & 1-day course. Participants MUST attend both weekends and volunteer at Frontier Day (March 13, 2021) to receive their certification.
Pre-qualification Day - February 6, 2021 (This is to determine the learner skills before he/she begins instructor classes. They have to show proficiency in shotgun, rifle and pistol before starting the course.)
Weekend 1 - February 12-14, 2021
Weekend 2 - February 19-21, 2021
Frontier Day - March 13, 2021
Course Completion and Certification are Required to Use North Florida Council BSA Ranges
The course offers basic instructor training for rifle and shotgun as well as Range Safety Officer
Adults only. U.S. citizens only. $85 non-refundable deposit holds your spot.
- Due to advance costs of this course refunds will not be given.
- Attendance is limited to the first 24 paid in full
- Additional cost – Optional NRA membership is $40/yr., $30 certification fee for members and $50 for non-members
- NRA fees will be directly paid to the NRA via their online site by the candidate
- Instructor candidates are required to volunteer for Frontier Day - March 13, 2021
- Instructor candidates are required to attend both weekends of the course. (Feb 12-14 & Feb 19-21)
- All firearms are provided. You may not bring your own firearms.
- DO NOT bring your own ammo. Ammunition will need to be purchased at the school (average cost $25)

Check Out Sunday at 3:00pm
Fee includes lodging, food and instructional material
Be sure to select a housing option for the weekend: indoor or tent
Bring your own linen/sleeping bag and personal care items.
*Students with current Range Safety Officer credentials will be given a $30 discount. Call Council for payment of your fees.
