Eagle Scout Award Contest

The Arthur M. & Berdena King Eagle Scout Award contest 

The Contest encourages Eagle Scouts to explore their personal heritage and to study the founding of our nation. 

Open to all Eagle Scout who are currently registered in an active unit and have not reached their 19th birthday. There is no requirement for the Eagle Scout to be a member of The Sons of the American Revolution or even be eligible for membership. 
An Eagle Scout may apply in more than one year if he meets the age requirements, but no more than $10,000 total may be granted to any one Eagle Scout at the national level. 

Application consists of:

  1. A 2-page application form
  2. A four-generation ancestor chart
  3. A 500-word Patriotic Theme essay

Eagle Scouts who submit completed contest entries may receive: 

  • SAR Eagle Scout Contest Patch
  • SAR Eagle Scout Contest Medal
  • SAR Eagle Scout Contest Trophy and cash award up to $1000
  • SAR Eagle Scout Contest Medal and cash award up to $10,000

Deadline to submit application is December 1st.
