Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills (IOLS) and Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO)

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: MUST for all NEW Cub Leaders, Scoutmasters, Assistants, experienced adult leaders and any adult who intends to participate with their Pack in outdoor activities and camping.

*It is mandatory to have at least one BALOO-trained adult on a Pack overnighter.
North Florida Council recommends at least two BALOO-trained adults.

*The IOLS course is required for all direct contact leaders registered in Boy Scout Troops along with Scoutmaster Position-Specific Training and Youth Protection Training to be considered "trained".

WHAT WILL BE COVERED: A hands-on training to give adult leaders the practical skills necessary to lead Scouts in the out-of-doors.

PREREQUISITE: The following trainings are recommended prior to attending this course:

(*You will need your BSA Membership ID number to create an account and have the trainings credited to your records.)

REQUIREMENTS: Wear your uniform, pen/pencil, paper or pad for taking notes, water bottle, coffee cup or mug, camp chair, hat, comfortable shoes, mess kit or equivalent.

Each participant MUST bring a current BSA Annual Health & Medical Form at check-in. (Only Parts A&B are needed - no doctor's appointment needed)
